About Algarve

Algarve enjoys one of the most stable climates in the world with its moderate and kind weather influenced by both the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas and its proximity to North Africa. With its beautiful coast, hills and acres of fertile orchards the city provides an immense variety of activities including water sports, dolphin watching, off-road jeep safaris, 'big game' fishing in the Atlantic and so on.

With its hot summer sun and mild winters, the city has become an ideal destination for a summer holiday or a winter break. The beaches of Algarve are as varied as its regions, and even in the midst of the high season, it is possible to discover a secluded sandy paradise, away from the bustle of the larger resorts.

In fact, Algarve is blessed with each feature to be an ideal family holiday destination. Its amazing beaches, a range of water sports and fantastic water parks wait for the tourists. In Algarve you can also enjoy tennis, jet skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing, fishing, golfing and horse riding. People who like to party into the early hours will definitely find a vibrant, cosmopolitan nightlife mainly in the coastal resorts.

When to visit Algarve?

Although spring and autumn are considered as the best periods to visit Algarve, it is a year-round holiday destination. During this preferable period the average temperature stands between 17ºC and 19ºC and is accompanied with a great level of sunshine.

What to pack for Algarve?

Shorts and T shirts are perfectly alright for visiting Algarve. Tourists should make sure that they take comfy footwear for daytime. They should also take your heels, but save them for evening dining or night clubbing. If tourists are going to visit any religious sites, you have to cover your shoulders and bare legs. To save themselves from sun tourists should bring sun cream and sunglasses. From November to March Algarve can be cool and wet so taking a lightweight raincoat and umbrella will be a smart decision.
